Geoff Westley studied Flute, Piano and Composition at the Royal College of Music in London. At 23 he was already directing musicals in London's West End, first of all Jesus Christ Superstar. In the same year, invited to join the Bee Gees, he was their Musical Director for 7 years on all the band's world tours, performing in prestigious venues such as Madison Square Garden, Budokan Tokyo, Maple Leaf Stadium Toronto, Central Park New York, and Sydney Opera House.

As a keyboardist and arranger he has collaborated with many international artists including: Carpenters / Peter Gabriel / Andrew Lloyd-Webber / Phil Collins / Everly Bros / Vangelis / Gerry Goldsmith / Hans Zimmer / Marvin Hamlish / Henry Mancini .....

At the age of 30, he began a long and successful collaboration with Italian artists. He was a producer and arranger for: Lucio Battisti - Una Donna per Amico/Una Giornata Uggiosa, Claudio Baglioni - Strada Facendo/Avrai, Renato Zero - Voyeur/Cattura/Spalle al Muro (Vecchio), Riccardo Cocciante - La Grande Avventura, Mango - Sirtaki, Laura Pausini, Eros Ramazzotti, Fabio Concato, Lucio Dalla, Fiorella Mannoia, and many others.

For the Latin world he has produced and arranged: Victor Manuel, Ana Belen, Pablo Milanes, Fito Paez, Chico Buarque, Chavela Vargas, Antonio Banderas ....

As orchestrator and conductor he has worked with: the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia, London Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestras of the Teatro Regio di Parma, the Teatro Bellini of Catania, the Teatro Verdi of Salerno, Orchestra laVerdi of Milan, Roma Sinfonietta, Brno Philharmonic, Budapest Symphony Orchestra, as well as may wonderful London session orchestras.

Major orchestral projects include: Sogno No1 - with the London Symphony Orchestra, new orchestral versions of works by Fabrizio de André. An adaptation of Humperdinck's Opera Hansel & Gretel (as a full-length 2-Act ballet); Storia di Una Capinera, a new opera by Gianni Bella/Mogol recorded with the Brno Philharmonic in Czechoslovakia and Parma; Un Piccolo Natale in Più, an album of Christmas music with Claudio Baglioni and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra; Reworkings of well-known classical pieces by Rachmaninov, Poulenc, Tchaikowsky, Kreisler, Schumann and Saint-Saëns - as duets for Lyric Tenor, Solo Violin and Orchestra; An album of Nordic songs by Grieg, Sibelius & Nielsen, in new orchestral versions written for and performed with soprano Janice Watson and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra.

For the Sanremo Festival he created, arranged and conducted a medley for Eros Ramazzotti - Special Guest in 2016, and was chosen by Claudio Baglioni as Musical Director for the Sanremo Festivals 2018 and 2019, in which he curated arrangements and conducted the orchestra for international stars such as James Taylor and Sting, and for Italian artists such as: Laura Pausini, Andrea Bocelli, Eros Ramazzotti, Il Volo, Antonello Venditi, Gianni Morandi, Riccardo Cocciante, Biagio Antonacci, Ligabue, Gianna Nannini, Elisa, Giorgia, Nek, Renga, Pezzali, Mengoni.

The Sogno No1 project is also performed live in concert, with Peppe Servillo and Pilar, s recently in Milan, Gubbio (PG), Salerno, Regia di Caserta, Isernia, and two “Sold Out’ at the Teatro Bellini in Catania in May 2024.

In September 2022 he conducted the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Verdi of Salerno in 2 concerts at the Regia di Caserta with Claudio Baglioni, where the album Strada Facendo (1981) was presented in a new orchestral version, prepared specifically for the reunion between the two artists.

Among his compositions, Travels in the Arctic Circle, a chamber opera commissioned by the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, song cycles for the lyric voice, many compositions for Piano Solo, "Favole al Telefono", original music on the fables of Gianni Rodari, and told in concert by Peppe Servillo.

He has taken part in 2 James Bond films: as a keyboard player and conductor of the soundtrack of "The Spy Who Loved Me" ..... and was the hot air balloon pilot in "Octopussy".

He has flown hot air balloons for the British national team in World and European Championships.​​
